Welcome to Jireh Foundation, a non-profit foundation dedicated to advancing research capacity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields within Sri Lanka. Our mission is centered around empowering postgraduate research students pursuing M.Phil/Ph.D. degrees at Sri Lankan state universities by providing financial support and opportunities for career development.

Jireh Foundation is driven by the belief that financial support for research students is not just a necessity but a fundamental investment in the future of STEM innovation in Sri Lanka. The recent economic downturn has exacerbated the financial challenges faced by students, necessitating urgent and targeted intervention.

Our History

Jireh Foundation was conceived from a deep-seated passion for advancing scientific research and addressing the financial challenges faced by postgraduate students in Sri Lanka. Our journey began in 2023, and we decided to turn a personal experience of financial struggle during their M.Phil studies into a force for change.

In 2023, Jireh Foundation was officially registered as a guarantee limited company at the company of registrar Sri Lanka, marking the beginning of our journey to support the next generation of STEM innovators.

Our Objective

The primary objective of Jireh Foundation is to bridge critical funding gaps experienced by research students within the Sri Lankan academic system. With a focus on strengthening our research capacity, we aim to award grants to deserving individuals who are committed to advancing knowledge in their respective fields.

Funding and Sustainability

While our founder is initially seeding Jireh Foundation with personal resources, we envision sustainable growth through strategic partnerships with philanthropic foundations and organizations that share our vision. By leveraging external support, we aim to expand our reach and impact within the academic community in Sri Lanka.
